Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
When a name or case number is entered in a search tool on the site, the query is sent to the third-party provider operating that tool. The provider processes the request and returns any result through its service. Graham County Court Docket does not retain or log those search terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
If an email is sent to the site, the message may be kept to respond and maintain the correspondence. It is not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a Graham County Court Docket page loads, servers may receive technical details about that visit, including:
- The IP address assigned to your device
- Which browser you are using and its version
- Your device type and operating system
- The pages you visited and how long you stayed on each
- The site that sent you here, if any
- Timestamps for each page view
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device. The site uses them and analytics services to understand aggregate use, such as which pages receive traffic and where visits end. Browser settings can block cookies, although doing so may affect how some site features behave.
What We Do With This Data
Collected information is used for the limited operational purposes below.
- Operating, maintaining, and improving site performance
- Routing search requests to the provider that operates the selected tool
- Assessing aggregate page use and site operation
- Finding and addressing technical problems
- Serving advertising that may be based on interests
No Court-Record Data on File
Graham County Court Docket does not host, maintain, compile, or sell a database of court dockets, Case Summary information, or personal case records. Court data is held within the North Carolina court system, including by the Graham County Clerk of Superior Court and, for public online access, the North Carolina eCourts Portal. This site provides general routing information only. It is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor information is not assembled into consumer reports or records about third parties.
Third-Party Search Partners
Search boxes are operated by outside companies. Information entered in one of those tools is governed by the provider’s privacy policy rather than this policy. Those providers set their own retention and sharing practices, which Graham County Court Docket does not control. Review a provider’s policy before submitting a query.
Links to Other Websites
The site links to official clerk, court, calendar, and statewide case-search resources, as well as third-party search tools. Following a link leaves this site, and the destination’s privacy policy then governs the visit. Review that policy before providing personal information.
Some advertising partners may track activity across websites to deliver targeted advertising. That tracking occurs through their systems, not the site’s own systems.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Information may be disclosed to:
- Search providers that process queries entered through their tools
- Analytics services used for site traffic and performance
- Advertising networks that deliver advertisements on the site
- Government or law-enforcement bodies when a valid legal order requires disclosure
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable security practices are used to protect collected information. No internet-connected system can promise absolute security, so a breach or unauthorized access cannot be ruled out.
Users Under 18
The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from people under 18. If information from a minor is believed to have been submitted, notify the site so the information can be removed promptly.
Your Data Rights
North Carolina’s court-record framework concerns records maintained by the courts, not a separate visitor-data-rights statute for this private site. N.C.G.S. § 7A-109 addresses clerk-maintained court files, dockets, and indexes; N.C.G.S. § 132-6 covers inspection and copies; N.C.G.S. § 1-72.1 supplies a procedure to assert access to civil judicial records; and N.C.G.S. § 7A-308 governs clerk fees. Those laws do not mean this site holds court data. Depending on residence and applicable law, additional rights over personal information may apply. At a minimum, you may:
- Request a copy of information held about you
- Ask for correction of inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your information
- Opt out of certain processing where applicable
Updates to This Policy
This privacy policy may be revised. A revised version will appear on this page with an updated effective date.
